 The Garmin Fenix 8 series, released on August 27, 2024, is the latest in Garmin's rumors line of premium multisport GPS smartwatches. This series offers two primary display options: a vibrant AMOLED display or a solar-powered MIP (transflective) display, catering to different user preferences for clarity and battery life.

Key features of the Fenix 8 include:

  • Sizes: Available in 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm for the AMOLED models, while the solar versions are available in 47mm and 51mm.
  • Battery Life: AMOLED models can last up to 29 days in smartwatch mode, while the solar models extend this up to 48 days with sufficient sunlight.
  • Durability and Diving: The watches are water-rated to 10 ATM and support scuba diving and apnea diving up to 40 meters.
  • Performance Enhancements: Features include advanced training metrics, a new strength-training guide, and improved mapping capabilities.
  • Voice Features: Integrated microphone and speaker enable phone calls and voice commands.
  • Materials: Options include sapphire crystal lenses and titanium or stainless steel bezels.

Pricing starts at $800 for the base "Fenix E" model,  Garmin Rumors with premium models ranging from $1,000 to $1,200 depending on size and features. This price represents a notable increase compared to the Fenix 7 series, reflecting its expanded capabilities.
