 The Garmin rumors Descent G2 launched on February 12, 2025, introducing a dive-ready smartwatch with a 1.2” AMOLED touchscreen, multiple dive modes, and Garmin’s full suite of health and fitness tracking features. Building on its predecessor, the Descent G1, the G2 upgrades to an AMOLED display, improving readability underwater while adding new training, health, and smartwatch features.

Positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Descent Mk series, it forgoes air integration but retains essential dive tools, including Dive Readiness, apnea alerts, and surface GPS tracking. However, it does lack multi-band GNSS and the latest heart rate sensor. It features a rugged, eco-friendly design made with recycled ocean-bound plastics, blending durability with sustainability.
